How to prevent discoloration of galvanized steel wire?

The surface of the iron wire coated with zinc element is often found to be black. This is due to the unstable chemical nature of zinc. During the process of zinc plating, zinc chemically reacts with oxygen in the air to form New chemical substances, and this substance is more stable and black. In addition, there are some factors, such as humid air, impurities in the manufacturing process, hand sweat and its lubricant, which will cause the surface of galvanized to turn black. When we find that the galvanization has changed color, it can be improved like this! Carrying out some simple treatments to prevent or prolong its discoloration time: galvanizing its work place to keep dry, reduce and use no chemical substances, the operator wear clean gloves, etc., to prevent the acceleration of adding impurities to produce a chemical reaction. In addition, it is very important to passivate it. It can be required for hot dip zinc factories. After zinc dipping, passivation treatment is performed, because the passivated zinc has better anti-discoloration effect and can extend the time of discoloration.

1. Oiled, all wire ropes must be oiled. The fiber core is immersed in oil, which requires grease to protect the fiber core from decay and corrosion, to moisten the fiber, and to lubricate the wire rope from the inside. Oil coating on the surface of all steel wires in the strands is evenly coated with a layer of rust-proof lubricating grease. Among the mine ropes with high friction and high mineral water, black oil grease with increased friction and strong water resistance should be coated; other uses Red oil grease with strong film-forming property and good anti-rust performance is required, and it is required to have a thin oil layer, so that it is easy to keep clean during the operation.

2. Plating, it can be galvanized, aluminized, nylon or plastic coated. Galvanized it is divided into a thin coating layer after the steel wire is plated first and then a thick coating layer after the steel wire is drawn out. The mechanical properties of the thick coating layer are lower than that of the smooth steel wire rope, and it should be used in a severe corrosive environment. Aluminum-plated steel wire rope is more corrosion-resistant, wear-resistant and heat-resistant than galvanized steel wire rope. It is mainly used in fishery trawlers and mines containing H2S. It is produced by plating before drawing. Nylon or plastic-coated steel wire ropes can be divided into two types: coated rope and coated strand.
