GOST wire rope standards and GB standards have many differences, mainly reflected in the following aspects:
Standard system and scope of application:
GOST standard:
GOST standard is developed and used by Russia and other CIS countries, such as GOST R 70906-2023 for use in mines and mines for lifting traction, closed load, balance, conductor and fender, brake, auxiliary rope.
• GB standards: GB steel wire rope standards have GB/T 20118-2017 "General technical conditions for steel wire rope", GB/T 8358-2023 "Steel wire rope breaking tension determination method", etc., widely used in metallurgy, machinery, construction, transportation, navigation, aerospace and many other fields.Wire rope structure and classification.
• GOST standard: There is no detailed information to show that it is significantly different from China in the classification of wire rope structure, but from its application to special fields such as mines, there may be special structural wire rope and classification methods for mine operation characteristics.
• GB standards: such as GB/T 20118-2017 compared with the old standard, the steel wire rope structure has changed, deleted the 6×19 (B) class, 6×37 (B) class, etc., increased the 35W×7 class, and separated the 18×19W, 18×19S from the 18×7 class, a single column.
Nominal tensile strength
• GOST standard: There is no public information showing in detail the nominal tensile strength classification of steel wire rope under the GOST standard, but steel wire rope for different purposes must have its corresponding strength requirements system.
• GB standard: GB/T 20118-2017, the nominal tensile strength of steel wire is divided into three levels: 1570N/mm², 1770N/mm², 1960N/mm².
Marking method
• GOST standards: Details are not available, but there are generally marking rules that conform to the Russian language custom and the characteristics of the Russian industrial system.
• GB standard: GB/T 8706-2017 "Terminology, marking and classification of wire rope" provides detailed marking methods, such as steel wire, strand, wire rope of circular wire rope, no code; Fiber core code is "FC" and so on.
Test methods and decision rules
• GB standard: There is no comprehensive data to show the detailed differences between it and the domestic test methods, but GOST R 70906-2023 must have specific test requirements and judgment rules for mining steel wire ropes.
• GB standard: Taking GB/T 8358-2023 as an example, the method of determining the breaking tension of the wire rope is standardized, and the validity criterion of the test result is "broken within 6d from the chuck" .
