Non-rotating and rotating wire ropes differ in twisting methods, performance, and application scenarios.
Non-rotating steel wire rope, also known as anti-rotation wire rope, is twisted in a special way, so that the wire rope will not rotate obviously under stress. This kind of wire rope is usually composed of multi-layer strands, and the inner and outer strands are twisted in opposite directions, thus generating roughly equal rotating force in clockwise and counterclockwise directions, which ensures that it will not rotate generally during use. The main structures of non-rotating wire rope include 35Wx7,24Wx7,18x+FC,18X19+IWS etc.
Rotating wire rope has no specific structure or twist direction requirements, it represents those wire ropes that will rotate when stressed. This rotation may be caused by the structural characteristics, twisting direction or use mode of the wire rope. Rotating wire rope may be entangled with other equipment or wire rope itself due to rotation, which will affect work efficiency and safety.
