Dimensional and structural requirements
Although a rope's diameter can be measured with a micrometer and its structure is visible to the naked eye, dimensional and structural requirements depend on the rope's industry and application, so special tests are carried out according to the actual situation.
Cable surface quality:
The quality of the rope surface is visible to the naked eye, and special requirements are as follows:
1. Galvanized steel wire ropes must have a uniform, continuous galvanized coating on the steel wire, with no cracks or delaminations;
2. Each rope and each strand of steel wire must be well twisted, without laying marks, without protruding, broken, pressure-damaged or uneven cross-wires;
3. The rope on the surface of the steel wire must be free of defects such as scratches, flattening, severe twisting, etc.
Each batch of products must be thoroughly inspected by the supplier, who must provide an inspection report and confirm that the characteristics associated with the products are qualified.
4. Breaking stress and breaking strength of the cable.
The breaking stress and breaking strength of the cable can be measured using test equipment. Specific test methods and parameter indicators are given in GB/T 8358-2.
