Wire rope in the same diameter when the nominal tensile strength is lower, the more steel wire in each rope, the finer the diameter of the wire, the better the rope's flexibility, but the rope is easy to wear.Conversely, the thicker the diameter of the steel wire in each strand of rope, the worse the rope's flexibility, the rope is resistant to wear.
Therefore, different types of wire rope, its scope of use is different. According to the actual needs of lifting and hoisting operations, in general, the selection of wire rope can be considered the following principles.
(1)6×19 wire rope is used as cable wind rope, pulling rope and making lifting rigging, generally used for bending load is small or suffered from wear and tear of the place.
(2)6×37 steel wire rope is used to bind various objects and equipment in lifting operations, as well as to thread around the pulley block and make rigging for lifting weights. Applicable when the rope is bent.
Lang lay steel wire rope , the surface is more flat, soft, with good bending fatigue resistance, more durable; its disadvantage is that the rope head are easy to loose, easy to rotate when hanging heavy objects, easy to curl and kink, and therefore should not beused in the lifting alone. Lifting and hoisting operations are commonly used to store interactive twisted wire rope.
