1. Inspection of wire ropes
The condition of the elevator wire ropes is directly related to the safety of the equipment and passengers, and must be paid enough attention to Careful observation and careful inspection should be carried out during work. The inspection contents are: (1) Check the number, location and lay length of broken wires. Broken wires; (2) The diameter of the elevator wire ropes becomes thinner. In addition to visual inspection, regularly use a vernier caliper to measure the rope diameter and wear; (3) Check the tension of the elevator wire rope. The difference between the tensions of each rope should not exceed 5%; (4) The lubrication, cleaning and corrosion of the wire rope; (5) The condition of the rope head and its combination, and whether there are any other abnormalities in the entire length, such as abnormal elongation changes of the rope, etc.
2. Wear and deformation of steel wire rope
According to experience, it is rare for elevator wire ropes to suddenly break under normal working conditions. The damage is generally caused by wear, bending fatigue, rust or trauma during long-term operation. Special attention should be paid to the inspection of wear and corrosion. Wear includes wear on the surface of the wire rope, between strands, and between wires.
3. Corrosion of elevator wire ropes
Elevator wire ropes will rust during use, their mechanical properties will decrease, the wire diameter will become thinner, and the strands will loosen, resulting in brittle fracture. This kind of break is an "avalanche" break, which is more dangerous than ordinary wire breakage or wear. Special attention should be paid to any corrosion of the steel wire rope during maintenance. Careful observation should be made. If it is found that the corrosion is serious and has formed pits or the outer steel wire of the rope strand is loose, it should be replaced regardless of the broken wire or the rope diameter. "Red oil" indicates that there is no oil in the rope core and there is rust inside, which should be paid attention to. If necessary, you can chop the rope end to check the internal rust of the wire rope. The way to prevent steel wire ropes from rusting is to apply oil on the ropes for protection.
