When in use, the steel wire rope needs to be connected to other load-bearing parts to transmit the load. Steel wire rope end need to be fixedly connected. The methods are roughly as follows:
1. Braiding method
The braiding method is the most commonly used method of connecting wire rope ends. This method uses a heart-shaped collar to first fold back the end of the steel wire rope, and then braid each end strand into each strand of the steel wire rope. Each strand is interspersed and braided 4 to 5 times, and finally tied tightly with thin steel wire. The bundling length should be 20 to 25 times the diameter of the wire rope and should not be less than 300 mm.
2. Wedge sleeve method
That is, the ends of the wire rope are connected with wedges and wedge sleeves made of steel. This connection method can maintain 80% of the breaking tension of the wire rope.
3. Rope card fixation method
Put wire rope end on the heart-shaped collar and fix it with a special wire rope chuck. When using rope clamps to secure the connection, the connection strength should be ensured to be no less than 85% of the breaking tension of the wire rope. The rope clamping plate should be on the working section of the wire rope, and the U-shaped bolt should be buckled on the side of the wire rope near the end. The distance should not be less than 6 times the diameter of the wire rope.
4. Aluminum alloy indenter method
First dismantle the ends of the steel wire rope, stagger the remaining ends of each strand, so that the length of the remaining ends of each strand does not exceed the length of the aluminum sleeve, then cut off the rope core, bend it 180°, insert it into the main rope respectively with a drill, and finally insert the aluminum sleeve. , pressed into an oval shape on an air hammer, and pressed into shape with a mold.
5. File sleeve casting method
When the file-shaped sleeve casting method is used for connection, the connection strength can reach the breaking tension of the steel wire rope, which can maintain 100% of the breaking tension of the steel wire rope.
6. Detachable joint connection method
The joint connection can rotate freely, and part of the rotation force of the wire rope can be relieved during use. This connection method can maintain 90% of the breaking tension of the wire rope.
